Howard Pflanzer is an award winning playwright, poet and performance artist whose works, which engage with the issues of our times, have been produced in the US and abroad. As a Fulbright Scholar he directed the world premiere of his play, The Terrorist, and conducted theatre workshops throughout India. In Poland he created a theatre piece, Alien, with Teatr Palmera Eldritcha, which involved red and green aliens and an ecological disaster, which was presented at the Malta International Theatre Festival. He believes that theatre, poetry and performance can entertain, and make the audience aware of contemporary problems through dramatic reflection and humor. What is dark and opaque is dramatically illuminated in his works.
